Master of Science in Mountain Environment and Development Studies (MEDS) is a two-year, interdisciplinary, research-oriented program open to graduates from science and technical disciplines, including forestry, agriculture, environmental science, engineering, geography, geology, and related fields. The program equips students with the knowledge and practical skills to address environmental and development challenges in mountain regions through integrated studies in mountain ecology, climate change adaptation, watershed management, biodiversity conservation, disaster risk reduction, sustainable livelihoods, and geospatial technologies. With approximately 40% of the curriculum delivered through field-based learning in mountain landscapes and communities, students use mountains as open laboratories to develop critical thinking, visioning, reasoning, and problem-solving skills, preparing them for careers in sustainable mountain development, research, policy, and environmental management.
